San Diego, CA (September 3, 2024) — Boys to Men Mentoring (B2M) is excited to announce the 15th Annual 100 Wave Challenge, set to take place on Saturday, September 28th at Mission Beach. This surf-a-thon, imagined by Co-founder Joe Sigurdson in 2009, challenges surfers of all skill levels to catch 100 waves in a single day, all while raising funds to support B2M’s mission of expanding in-school mentoring programs throughout San Diego County.
The event brings together the surf community, from beginners to seasoned pros, united by their love of the ocean and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young men. Each surfer or surf angel sets a personal goal to raise $1,000 or more, making every wave caught a step closer to providing critical mentorship for boys in need. Beyond the physical challenge, participants are driven by the greater purpose of supporting B2M’s vision to reach every middle and high school in the county.
This year’s event marks the crystal anniversary, symbolizing clarity and dedication to B2M’s mission. Over the past 15 years, the 100 Wave Challenge has grown into a beloved tradition that not only tests surfers’ endurance but also builds a sense of community and support for the next generation.
