A captivating fusion of intellect and music will highlight this year’s Rooted in Resiliency to benefit Boys to Men Mentoring on April 13, 2024, at Coasterra on Harbor Island. Renowned best-selling author, speaker, and educator Stedman Graham will headline the fundraiser, sharing invaluable insights on self-identity and leadership as contributing factors to the current boy crisis. The event aims to not only enlighten but also raise vital funds to expand mentoring programs to benefit struggling teen boys.
“Graham’s philosophy is a critical connector to Boys to Men Mentoring’s mission,” said Joe Sigurdson, Co-Founder of Boys to Men Mentoring. “Our countywide in-school and open community mentoring programs provide boys with a supportive network of resilient male role models who serve as witnesses, validators, affirmers, and champions of the boys’ identities,” he added.
District 2 Supervisor Joel Anderson joins as a key supporter, pledging his commitment to enhancing the lives of struggling teenagers within the community. Supervisor Anderson’s involvement amplifies the County’s collective effort toward fostering positive change.
Capping off the evening, Whitney Shay, a five-time San Diego Music Award Winner and Billboard #1 Blues Artist will deliver an exclusive performance. Charming KUSI on-air personality Allie Wagner will emcee the event while guests enjoy a culinary extravaganza, savoring the scenic waterside ambiance, all in support of Boys to Men Mentoring.
