Classification: Part-time, Hourly – Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Director of Development
Compensation: $25/hour, part-time up to 24 hours per week
Schedule: (3) 8-hour shifts per week, with evenings and weekends as needed (Two days onsite, one day remote)

Position Overview:
We seek a reliable and detail-oriented Development Assistant to join our team. The Development Assistant will play a vital role in our development team, providing administrative support for the planning and execution of fundraising efforts. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at helping our organization meet its fundraising goals and effectively engage with donors.
- Event Support:
- Manage the registration list for fundraising events, ensuring all guest information is accurate and up to date.
- Oversee the collection and processing of payments for ticket sales and sponsorships.
- Collaborate with the Executive Assistant to ensure proper coding of ticket sales and sponsorship payments.
- Track expenses related to events, ensuring accurate accounting and budget adherence.
- Research venues for potential events and support the selection process based on logistical needs.
- In collaboration with the event consultant, assist with event logistics, including coordinating catering and equipment rental.
- Coordinate and assist in procuring event auction items and upload them into our event database
- Work with the team to capture photos and videos of events and activities.
- Database Support:
- Collaborate with our Database Consultant to ensure that database records are always up-to-date.
- Occasionally support our Database Consultant with outgoing mail.
- Maintain and update the donor database, ensuring all donor information is accurate and current. Generate reports as needed to track fundraising progress.
- Donor Communication:
- Communicate with our peer-to-peer fundraisers during the annual 100 Wave Challenge fundraiser, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
- Offer email marketing support using Mailchimp
- Collaborate with our Marketing Consultant to ensure she has the correct information to draft our bi-weekly 100 Wave email campaign emails.
- Administrative Support: Assist with the day-to-day administrative tasks that support the development team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, preparing meeting materials, and tracking development-related expenses.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with all team members to provide support on various projects, campaigns, and initiatives to enhance donor engagement and retention efforts.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Undertake additional tasks and special projects as necessary to support the development function, including ordering supplies to facilitate event execution and daily operations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant nonprofit experience is preferred
- Experience using MailChimp is preferred, but not required
- Experience with Qgiv, Donor Perfect, and Greater Giving is also preferred, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive and positive attitude, displaying a strong commitment to the organization’s mission.
- A team player mentality with a strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

About Boys to Men Mentoring Network and our work environment. We are a high-demand in-school group mentoring program serving teenage boys from 12 – 17 years old in middle and high schools with additional independent chapters all over the U.S. Our San Diego location is where the Boys to Men Mentoring program originated under co-founders Craig McClain and Joe Sigurdson. We currently partner with 40 schools serving over 1,000 struggling adolescent boys in San Diego.
