Cohn Restaurant Group named Community Catalyst Partner to the 1 Wave Challenge

Boys to Men Mentoring Network is delighted to introduce the Cohn Restaurant Group as the 1 Wave Challenge & Beach Run’s inaugural Community Catalyst Partner. The sponsorship recognizes a local business, organization or individual whose creativity, passion and generosity inspire meaningful community engagement in Boys to Men’s mission.

Boys to Men’s Community Catalyst Partners tell the story of the organization’s unique spirit of community cultivation and engagement. Here’s how the Cohn Restaurant Group harnessed the power of philanthropy to introduce San Diegans to Boys to Men’s inspiring mission:

During the months leading up to this year’s 1 Wave Challenge, Boys to Men was honored to participate as a beneficiary of the Cohn Restaurant Group’s Menus with Meaning charity dining series. The partnership launched in October at BO beau Kitchen + Garden in La Mesa, moved to Vintana Wine + Dine in Escondido in November, and concluded in December at Blue Point Coastal Cuisine in the Gaslamp Quarter. The partnership offered San Diegans three unique dining experiences, and the opportunity to lend their support to an important cause: Empowering high-risk, fatherless boys to break the cycle of violence, gangs, drugs, and prison in their families by affording them the life skills, confidence and determination to achieve their dreams.

The Cohn Restaurant Group donated 20% of Menus with Meaning proceeds to Boys to Men Mentoring Network. The company’s spirit of of giving did not end there: Proceeds from Blue Point Coastal Cuisine’s Menus with Meaning menu will be matched by the Century Club of San Diego, through the organization’s Champions for Youth campaign.

“Good friends and good food are a winning combination,” explained Boys to Men Executive Director Craig McClain. “The Cohn Restaurant Group’s Menus with Meaning series brings philanthropy to the dinner table. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to savor a meal with family and friends, while doing their part to make San Diego a stronger community.
